This CPB has been revised to state that acupuncture is considered experimental and investigational for the following indications: acne, burning mouth syndrome, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, facial spasm, and mumps. This CPB is revised to state that acupuncture point injection (also known as acupoint injection therapy, biopuncture) is considered experimental and investigational for the following indications: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, cancer-related pain, cervical spondylosis, chronic daily headache, dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain), lateral elbow pain (tennis elbow), and all other indications.
