This CPB has been revised to state that (i) adult tonsillectomy is considered experimental and investigational for the treatment of adult obstructive sleep apnea; (ii) adult tonsillectomy is considered medically necessary for members with tonsillar hypertrophy; and (iii) the Zzoma positional device is considered experimental and investigational because its effectiveness has not been established in the peer-reviewed literature.
