This CPB is revised to remove reference to specific access points from medical necessity criteria for transcatheter aortic valve implantation. (The previous version of the CPB limited coverage of transcatheter aortic valve implantation to transfemoral or transapical insertion.) This CPB has been revised to state that transcatheter aortic valve implantation is considered experimental and investigational for native aortic valve regurgitation.
